This notice explains what personal data ProMarkets collects, why, who can see it, how long we keep it and what rights you have. It applies to promarkets.net and to visitors and members wherever they are. It is short because we collect very little.
1. Who we are
- promarkets.net ("ProMarkets") is a project of DOG YEBO LTD, a company incorporated in Samoa. DOG YEBO LTD is responsible for your personal data (the "controller" or "data user" under data protection laws). Contact: admin@promarkets.net.
- Sellers on ProMarkets are independent. When a member contacts a seller, the seller is responsible for how it then uses the member's information.
2. What we collect and when
- When you browse: nothing that identifies you, apart from the technical records every web server keeps (IP address, browser type, page requested and time). We set no cookies unless you use a form or choose a language.
- When you open an account: your name, email address, password (stored only as a one-way hash), preferred language and account dates. Name and email address are required; without them we cannot open an account.
- When you apply to sell: the category and description you give us.
- When you send feedback: your message and its type, the page it relates to, your language and browser type, and your email address if you give it.
- Security checks: on sign-in, registration and feedback forms, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person. To do this, Cloudflare processes technical signals such as your IP address and browser characteristics.
- To limit abuse, we keep short-lived counters of attempts, linked to a one-way hash of your IP address or email address.
- We do not collect payment details, identity documents, precise location or sensitive data (such as health, religion or political views), and we do not obtain data about you from other sources.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Run your account and let you sign in | Name, email address, password hash, language | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Show sellers' contact details to members | Your member account | Performance of our agreement with you |
| Review applications to sell | Application details, account | Steps you asked us to take before an agreement |
| Reply to feedback and fix problems | Message, email address, page, language, browser type | Our legitimate interest in running and improving the site |
| Protect the site against fraud, spam and attacks | IP address, attempt counters, security-check results, server logs | Our legitimate interest in security |
| Meet legal obligations | Any of the above, only as required | Legal obligation |
We do not use your data for direct marketing, advertising or profiling, and we never sell or share it for anyone's marketing or targeted advertising. If we ever want to send you marketing, we will ask for your consent first, and you will be able to withdraw it at any time.
4. Who can see it
- Our web host, Scicube, which stores the site and its database.
- Cloudflare, which runs the security check.
- The email services that deliver messages we send you or receive from you.
- Signed-in members, who can see a seller's contact details. Buyers' and members' details are never shown to other users.
- Courts, regulators or law enforcement, only where the law requires it or where it is needed to protect our rights or someone's safety, and only after we have checked the request.
- If ProMarkets is reorganised or transferred, the new operator may receive the data and must keep to this notice.
- Every service provider may use the data only to provide its service to us, and must keep it confidential and secure.
5. International transfers
- ProMarkets serves visitors worldwide, so your data may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including where our web host and service providers operate. Where the law requires it, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as standard contractual clauses, and you can ask us for details.
6. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account | Until you ask us to close it; then deleted within 30 days |
| Account whose email address was never confirmed | 30 days, then deleted automatically |
| Email-confirmation and password-reset links | 24 hours and 1 hour; then deleted automatically |
| Applications to sell | As long as the account exists |
| Feedback messages | 24 months, then deleted automatically |
| Attempt counters and security-check records | Up to 24 hours |
| The site's security logs | 12 months, then deleted automatically |
| Web server logs kept by our host | According to the host's own schedule |
If the law requires us to keep something longer, for example because of a dispute, we keep only what is needed for as long as it is needed.
7. How we protect it
- All pages are served over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and are never stored in readable form.
- Sellers' contact details are shown only to signed-in members and are never included in public pages. The database and code sit outside the public part of the server.
- Access is limited to people who need it to run ProMarkets. Rate limits and security checks protect sign-in and forms.
- If a data breach is likely to harm you, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
8. Your rights
- Depending on where you live, you have the right to: see the personal data we hold about you and get a copy; correct it; have it deleted; restrict or object to how we use it; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent where we rely on it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
- We reply within 30 days and do not charge for this.
- To make a request, use the feedback form and choose "Privacy request", or email admin@promarkets.net. We may ask you to confirm your identity, normally by replying from the email address on your account.
9. Children
- ProMarkets is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
10. Other websites
- Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
11. Questions and complaints
- Please contact us first at admin@promarkets.net so that we can try to put things right.
- You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe your rights were infringed.
12. Changes
- We will post any update on this page with a new date. If a change is significant, we will also show a notice on the site.
